Transport rate equations

Transport rate equations are used to estimate the rate at which a conserved quantity moves into or out of the capacity over which the continuity balance is being taken. Fluid flowrate equations and heat and mass transfer equations are all examples of transport rate equations. Transport rate equations appear in the 'rate in' and 'rate out' terms in a continuity equation.
