Including equilibrium relationships in dynamic models seems a funny thing to do. By definition an equilibrium relationship tells you about what a system will do when it comes to equilibrium, i.e. steady-state.
However, when particular mechanisms (say reaction rates) are much faster than the other process dynamics then equilibrium relationships can be a very useful way of simplifying process models.
